On Friday, May 9, please make plans to attend the monthly meeting of The Greater Akron Aquarium Society. We meet at 8:00 pm at the Ritchie Memorial Shelter House, 109 West Avenue, in Tallmadge, Ohio. We will have refreshments, a mini-auction that includes BAP/HAP submissions, bowl show, and a product raffle. The Bowl Show Classes for May will be Goodeids; Rift Lake Cichlids; and Characins.
Our speaker at the May 9 Meeting will be “our own” Ken McGill. A life-long member of GAAS, Ken is the recent past President of the Lorain County Aquarium Society, and he faithfully serves as Chairman of the club’s Bowl Show every month. Ken is an enthusiastic hobbyist, and he will be presenting a talk on native fishes.
Looking Ahead to the Ultra-Aqua 2025 (2-Day Event, June 21-22)
The Ultra-Aqua 2025 will be on the weekend of June 21-22, 2025, at the Tallmadge Community Center, 80 Community Road, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278.
Show Registration Starts at 10 am on Saturday. Registration closes at 5:00 pm. Entrance fees are $1.50 per entry for the first 20 animals/entries you enter, each entry after 20 is free. Blank entry forms will be provided at the registration area. Swap Meet and Dinner program will be on Saturday, June 21. Plant and Fish only auction on Sunday, June 11.
