The August Picnic
The Greater Akron Aquarium Society Picnic and Fishy Exchange Will Be on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Summit MetroParks’ Meadow View Shelter (North of Tallmadge Circle)
The August 2024 GAAS meeting will be a party with our fish-head friends, no speaker or other real program. Bowl show and equipment raffle like usual. There will be no BAP/HAP auction in August, but if you’d like to turn in a spawn or plant, then that will be part of our “Fishy Exchange.” The “Exchange” is for fish hobby related items. Just bring in a bag (or two or more) of fish you’ve raised or have extra of, a new piece of equipment or decoration or some plants or live fish food and add it to the gift table, get a ticket and when your number is called take something else home! It’s that easy and fun, so we hope to see everyone there on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 8:00 pm.
This year, the location will not be at our regular location at Ritchie Shelter House, but it will be at the Summit MetroParks’ Meadow View Shelter located at 1088 North Ave., Tallmadge 44278, just north of the Tallmadge Circle at the intersection of State Route 91 and Northmoreland Ave. There is a traffic light at the intersection, and the park entrance is on the west side of State Route 91. The meeting will start at 8 pm, and we will have to be out of the park before 11 pm.
We will be having a catered meal this year. We are asking for a $5 donation per person.
