My name is Kevin Neves and I am an Associate Teaching Professor of Marine and Aquatic Biology at Bowling Green State University. I’ve got over 30 years of fishkeeping experience and 20+ years researching water quality on both freshwater and marine species. Prior to starting at BGSU, I was Operations Manager at Acadia Harvest, Inc., a small sustainable fish farm in Franklin, Maine, where we were recipients of over $900,000 in National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Grants looking at improvements to raising California yellowtail (Seriola lalandi) for food. Recently, I’ve become heavily involved with the American Livebearer Association as coordinator of the Breeding Award Program as well as sitting on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Ohio Aquarium Society. My current areas of research focus on nitrate exposure on fish reproduction as well as the effects of water quality and diet quantity on the health of hatchery-raised rainbow trout.
